Operation Butterfly!

Hi there,

My name is Caroline and I'm a classical singer based in the UK. As a soprano and nature lover, I have for a long time wanted to combine these two loves in an evening of beautiful arias and songs inspired by the natural world... and in particular, butterflies! I've put together a programme of pieces inspired by nature... including of course Puccini's superlative aria for Madame Butterfly, "Un bel dì"!

Also on the programme is the world premiere of some of my own works, which are usually inspired by nature or natural themes - including "How Still the Day". The marvellous David Gaukroger, who accompanies me in the video, will be my pianist for the concert.

I would like to get the concert filmed so that I can promote it to other venues and festivals, with the idea of repeating the concert format and raising money for a wildlife or local charity each time.

My aim for this concert is to raise money to support the important work of Butterfly Conservation (https://butterfly-conservation.org), so 50% of all proceeds will go to the charity.

My ultimate dream is to be able to raise enough to also hire a string trio or quartet to play with myself and David, as my own songs have string arrangements waiting to be played!
