HSC Goes to Carnegie!

Tax deductible

The Heritage Signature Chorale conducted by Stanley J. Thurston, will be the featured performers of Joseph Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass during a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Monday, March 19, 2018.

We are excited to have the opportunity to join Mr. Thurston - Artistic Director and 2016 Ovation Award Winner – in performance at this legendary venue.

From its meager beginnings around a dinning room table in Washington, DC, some 17 years ago,
HSC’s mission has been to engage, educate, enrich and inspire the community through presentations of diverse choral music with artistic excellence.  As we continue to win praises around the region for our "spectacular vocal polish" (Washington Post), the Chorale maintains its commitment to:

·         preserving, at the highest possible level, the performance tradition of African-American choral music, especially the Negro Spiritual;

·         elevating the African-American singer and composer in all musical genres; and to

·         bringing a unique interpretation of classical music from America, Europe and other regions of the world.

With great excitement and anticipation, the Heritage Signature Chorale is opening our 18th season highlighting its Carnegie Hall performance.

If you have attended any of our concerts over the past 17 years, you have experienced first-hand how our music lifts the spirit.

You were with us at the Kennedy Center when we performed Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess with the National Symphony Orchestra; at the Clarice Smith Center for the Performing Arts when we debuted Dr. Ysaye Barnwell’s Fortune’s Bones: The Manumission Requiem; at the Strathmore for the Underground Railroad performance with Kathleen Battle; and at Wolf Trap National Park when we performed Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana in collaboration with local choruses. You were with us when we presented the “Jazz Notes,” production highlighting jazz greats like Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.

And you joined us at performances that celebrated humanity, healing, and hope.  You have watched us share our stage with young vocalists and music directors from around the region.  Most importantly, you have supported our efforts to remain a vital member of the choral community through your financial support.

The opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall is the next step toward sharing our mission on stages across the country.

WE NEED YOU TO HELP MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
WE NEED YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT!

Our goal is to raise funds to support the travel, participation and production costs associated with a Carnegie Hall performance, for a 125 member chorus that includes voice students from local high schools, colleges and universities.

It’s a monumental task which makes your contribution the most important part of this effort.

Please consider making a donation of $100.00 or more, but any amount will be appreciated.  Your donation will help guarantee that the Heritage Signature Chorale, together with its student participants, will take avantage of this extrordinary performance opportunity.

The Heritage Signature Chorale is a nonprofit organization under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Your contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

If your donation is in support of a specific singer, please submit before December 31, 2017 and be sure to include his/her name in the comments section.

Thank you in advance for you generosity.
