Crystal's Journey

♥️PLEASE READ, HELP, AND SHARE♥️ As some of you may know on November 18, 2018 Crystal suffered a seizure while working in the OR. She was then rushed to the ER for an MRI. That day they received the devastating blow she had a 7cm by 3cm grade two astrocytoma on the right side of her brain. Just two days later she would be in surgery for over six hours. All signs pointed positive as they had a ninety percent resection. They could not remove the entire tumour as that would likely have left her with permanent deficits. Post surgery she had a slight left sided deficit which eventually returned with rehab. Crystal worked hard and was determined to have her life back. Despite removing most of the tumour she continued to have spontaneous seizures for almost two years. When the time felt right she wanted to go back to her job that she dearly loved and create a new normal.

During a routine MRI her scan indicated a slight growth to her tumour. A difficult road of chemo and radiation would follow for the next six months. Crystal rallied and amazed us all with her strength. It was physically and emotionally taxing on her and her family. Her efforts paid off in a big way when her MRI showed treatment had been successful and the tumour was decreasing.

Fast forward to January 10th, 2022. Crystal woke up and was off balance with debilitating nausea and dizziness. This would lead her to have an MRI as a precaution given the situation. The scan showed multiple new lesions in areas of the brain. Next steps are being worked out by Crystal, Joe and her respective doctors. It doesn’t have to be said that they are in for the fight of their lives here. This young family has been in an uphill battle since this began in 2018. It is important that they can focus all their energy and resources on getting Crystal healthy again. They are going to be looking at extra expenses in fighting this and the last thing they need to be concerned about are financial stresses.With the long road that is still ahead for Crystal and her family, as we all send our love, support and prayers.
