Help Lina.

Hi my name is Lina and at a young age I fell in love with the arts. Being raised by two immigrant parents who did not support an artistic environment  was a challenge for me. I could not share my work or even tell them my dream of pursuing an art career without them threatening to cut me off or even support me financially. I decided to listen to them at first and started forcing myself into career paths that I was not passionate about. I knew truly  following my dreams in pursuing an art career would make me happy so when I went off to Morgan State I finally chose to major in theatre. Finally,I gained the confidence I needed in order to be successful. I started reciting monologues just like I did when I was a child and being in a different environment allowed me to finally have a drive. I was finally able to surround myself by positive people instead of being in a negative household. Unfortunately, just when I started to feel ambitious, it came to my understanding that my school did not have a good theatre program. Not only that but I found out I had to pay for my housing even though I was told by the financial aid office that it was covered.. I decided to leave school before my loans were disbursed in order to avoid paying thousands of dollars off interest for a school that doesn’t have the proper funding in this department. Because I dropped out of school and decided to major in theatre my parents stopped supporting me which means I also have no financial help. I am eighteen years old and I have no family in the United States besides them so I cannot rely on anyone else. I am sharing my story because I owe my school $2901. This amount is difficult to pay on my own because I am paying for my living expenses as well and saving up for a car in order to go school.
