Medical Fund for Heidi Fox
Donation protected
Our dear friend, Heidi, noticed an enlarged lymph node above her collar bone in October 2015. Antibiotic treatment was unsuccessful and the doctors surgically removed two lymph nodes on December 2nd. At the follow-up appointment the next week, Heidi received the diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. She has several tests scheduled over the next week, and her first session of chemotherapy is on Wednesday, December 16. Her chemotherapy treatments will go on for at least four months.
Heidi is a wonderful mother to Lucy (7) and Rosie (5), students at Lycee Francais de la Nouvelle Orleans. Their home is filled with beautiful handmade crafts and artwork that they create together. They love dance parties and her girls are always performing plays and singing songs. Andy, Heidi's husband, is a dedicated Youth Pastor at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church, who is committed to being a resource and a friend for those he ministers to. They are an unbelievably loving family.
Heidi has a demanding career as a social worker in the heart transplant department at Ochsner Medical Center. Unfortunately, she has had to use all of her time off and she will likely need to take some unpaid leave.
Our goal of $15,000 would pay for her co-pays, prescriptions, medical expenses and enable her to take any time off that she needs. As her unexpected medical bills grow during the holiday season, we want her to be able to focus on her health so that she can make a full recovery and continue to be a bright light in the world.
