Hurrican Ian Recovery

Chapel by the Sea is a member church of Presbyterian Church USA. Chapel was the first church on Fort Myers Beach and remains a church for the community, welcoming all people seeking to know Jesus Christ.

But Hurricane Ian struck on September 29, 2022.

On October 1st, two congregation members walk over the north bridge to the road to do an assessment. What they found was devasting. Total destruction of our buildings. It still stands, but the walls were gone, except for the front wall containing our stained glass window!

We are Chapel by the Sea, and that is only our building. We are the church. So we will pull together now and draw strength from each other.

As members and friends, we will move forward to rebuild our building and our future.
