Breaking the Cycle of Child Marriage

In January of 2020, Mai Soli Foundation is launching its pilot program. We are a United States-based organization that is currently operating in Bangladesh. We are seeking donations to help us fund the pilot program.
Mai Soli Foundation was created in 2018 with the ultimate goal to end child marriage. In doing so, we have devised a custom series of programs, including one-on-one mentorship, cohort sessions, leadership+confidence, entrepreneurship and financial literacy curricula, and field experiences.
When Mai Soli's Founder+ President, Aria Mustary, began to address this problem, she sought inspiration from her own mother, a victim of child marriage. Her mother, who was pulled out of her education and forced into marriage at 16, was able to tap into her own potential and break out of her situation. She ended up creating a beautiful life for her family, as well as starting up a successful fabric business in New York City. This allowed the founder’s base understanding of surviving as a form of entrepreneurship and how it can be tapped into the potential of any and each girl around the world, when they are provided with the resources.
The Mai Soli Foundation Team invests in the development and education of the girls, so that they may unlock their creative and entrepreneurial potentials. This will be accomplished through exposure to our own confidence building and leadership curricula, entrepreneurship education, an intensive mentorship and creative workshops programs, financial literacy and immersive community programs to empower them.
With the long-term goal to develop self sufficiency, we function through a series of different channels. We have developed a proprietary curricula, focusing on entrepreneurship, leadership+confidence, and financial literacy. The girls are taught this information from our mentors, a group of young women from a local university who have been individually selected and vetted through an application process. These mentors will travel to girls' schools and teach the students the curricula in a classroom setting. In addition, the mentors will serve as a guiding force for the girls, participating in cohort and one-on-one mentorship sessions. Also, we have created a supplemental curricula, which includes step-by-step instructions for field experiences, in and out of the school’s campus.
