Bethany Murphy's Medical Expences
Donation protected
Bethany Murphy has been part of our Applebee’s family for several years and is not only a valuable member of our Apple family, but she also helps surrounding restaurants when they are short staffed and need her help. Last week Bethany tested positive for Covid-19. She was on her way to a full recovery until she started having what seemed to be minor complications. Three days later she was admitted into UT hospital and diagnosed with a very rare condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves and causes paralysis called Guillain-Barre syndrome which was triggered by Covid-19. After several days of treatment, the paralysis that had set in her legs and lower extremities has moved to her arms and upper body. Today she was moved to the ICU to monitor her heart and in fear of it preventing her ability to swallow.
Bethany is facing an uncertain amount of recovery time in the hospital as well as extensive in-home health care and therapy for 6 to 12 months. Unfortunately, she does not have medical insurance. Which means medical bills as well as physical therapy and medical needs such as a wheelchair, walker etc. will also be out of pocket. Bethany and her family desperately need help to provide her with the extensive care she will require.
