Help Ray meet his goal

Hi, my name is Ray Maloy.
I was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis about a year ago. After going through the shock of learning I needed to have a double lung transplant, my wife and I undertook the long process of getting on the lung transplant list.
Fast forward months later, I was determined to be a good candidate and received my transplant last December. Many people think, oh he's had his surgery so it's free flying from there. That's not the case at all. Within a week of the transplant, the medical lung team at the University of Utah found that I had a Chyle leak which is a condition where there were 3 tears in the area around my new lungs. This caused a lot of fluid to build up, and I had to have 5 chest tubes put in for drainage.
The medical team worked hard to figure out how to fix this issue. It seems it is very rare, and they weren't sure what was the best way to stop the leak. Three procedures later they were able to get it to stop, and after 6 weeks in the hospital I was released, and able to go to the university housing.
Getting a transplant has been a blessing, and we are so thankful, to the donor's family. Their gift enabled me to be able to continue living and spending time with my loved ones and friends. Be able to return, in the future, to the activities I once loved.
We couldn't have even been able to do this without all the help from family and friends. This is a very expensive operation, and staying in Utah, while recuperating is also part of the expense, along with carrying on with our normal bills. We have been able to raise money, but without being able to work, the bills are piling up.
We continue to work on the healing process, and look forward to being able to return to our home in Idaho. We take things one day at a time, and work towards that goal.
Thank you for any help you can give to help us reach our goal.
Thank you,
Ray and Lori Maloy
