Hudson's Fight

Hudson Mutimer celebrated his 9th birthday on November 8th, but unfortunately, within the next month he was diagnosed with a tumor, a rare type of cancer found primarily in children called Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. Hudson and his family have started the long road battling cancer at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon, which includes 42 weeks of chemotherapy followed by radiation.
For anyone that knows Hudson, he makes the most out of being a little boy; hockey with the Humboldt Atoms, competitive swimming with the Humboldt Hammerheads, and camping with the family. For most of the next year, Hudson will be quarantined to his house or the hospital in an effort to stay away from outside germs. Not playing with his friends is one of his main concerns. Hudson’s two sisters Ayla (11) and Gracelyn (6) have been his lead cheerleaders through this difficult time helping keep his spirits high.
Hudson’s parents, Wade and Haley Mutimer intend to be by his side throughout this entire journey as their brave little boy fights his way to health. Haley, a Recreation Working Supervisor at St. Mary’s Villa in Humboldt and Wade, an Electrician at Nutrien Lanigan are both unable to work due to the hectic treatment schedule over 100km away and Hudson’s need to be in isolation at home.
The Mutimers are a strong family, with strong faith, and little Hudson has been shouldering through all this without a complaint. Wade and Haley are so thankful for all the blessings they have had to this point. The community of Humboldt, friends, and family have all helped support the Mutimers already but the next year is going to be challenging. Let’s try to ease some of their financial stress by providing them with one less worry during this difficult time. God Bless!
