Hudson's Halfway Home
Donation protected
Hudson's Halfway Home is a special needs rescue based out of Illinois. We mainly take in newborns born with cleft palates, but will take puppies with any disability. We are the only rescue of this type within several surrounding states we take pups in from Illinois. Iowa, kanasa, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pip came from Mew Mexico.
As you can imagine the medical and supply costs add up quickly.
The photo above are our current residents :
Zen- cleft palate boxer, needs surgery estimate $5000.
Adopted- Gus Gus- bilateral cleft lips, needs neutered, microchipped, and next set of vaccinations
Harriet- Yorkie, born without patellas, has zero tear production, and possible liver shunt. She is a hospice case. If we can get her big enough, further testing is needed and possible surgery.
Betty- cleft lip Labrador , needs spayed, microchipped, and vaccinations- aDOPTED
Joplin and Jace- cleft palate English bulldogs, need around the clock care, supplies for tube feeding, formula, medical evaluation regularly.
Waldo is a boston terrier pup, he came to is after his mom caused major trauma to his penis. Waldo case was touch and go for the first few days as we knew that if he was unable to urinat there would be nothing we could do to save him. Things are looking good for Waldo, we will continue to monitor his injury as we are unsure how it will affect him long term. He is coincident a medical case as he will need continued meds and veterinary care as he grows.
Pip is a French bulldog puppy who joined us from New Mexico. Pip is a major medical case and currently considered hospice. Pip has a cleft palate but more concerning is that he has hydrocephalus. We are trying to treat the hydrocephalus with omeprazole, if this works awesome, if not there is a chance that the pressure in his head will become too great and we will have to love him enough to let him go.
Dom- a boston terrier pup born with a cleft lip and palate. Currently doing well will need medical care as he grows.
Geno- a boxer puppy born with a cleft lip and palate. Currently doing well, will need continued medical care as he grows.
.
As a rescue we need addition funds to become a 501.c3 rescue. $400-1000.
Please consider making a donation ever dollar helps us save these
precious little lives.
