Huff Family - Boulder County Wildfire Donations

HERE IS A WAY TO PRACTICE GENEROSITY in a HUGE WAY.
Dec. 30, 2021, Boulder County and the cities of Louisville and Superior, CO, were devastated with the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history where 800+ homes and 1,600+ acres were destroyed and damaged. There were gusts of wind spreading the fire anywhere between 55-115mph and was out of control for firefighters. Families and businesses had to be emergency evacuated and uprooted from their homes.
My family was one of them. My sister and brother-in-law, Pamela & Nathan Huff, and their son Silas (my nephew who is just under 2 years old), had to leave and flee their home in Superior, CO. They had just gotten home from spending Christmas in AL and GA with me and my family.
If you know Nathan and Pamela, you know that these are some of the BEST PEOPLE you could possibly encounter. They are FULL of faith in God and love for each other and everyone around them. These two give their time and resources to anyone they know in need, and together, I believe THEIR OWN needs can be met this time.
HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS and the most major praise report!!
Their house still stands! They just moved into this home this past summer being first-time home-owners and were so excited to continue raising Silas in such a beautiful and fantastic area with wonderful neighbors, but a LOT of their neighbors have lost their homes and everything they own.
It is heart-breaking and devastating to all involved, but I know God has a purpose in all of this, and now is the time we get to rally and be MIND-BLOWINGLY generous. I know that money can't fix everything, but this can be a brand new start to things even beyond what our physical eyes can see.
All funds with this fundraiser will go straight to the Huff family to help with:
- Replacement of essential items that may be destroyed with smoke damage
- Money for a good HEPA air purifier for their home for the quality of air
- Finances for hotel stays (because of loss of power) and unforeseen expenses
- Care for Silas; we don't know if his daycare was destroyed or not, and even if so, probably won't be usable for a while if it's still standing
- Help as they figure out next steps for their lives and what comes with the aftermath of this fire
NOTE: Pamela and Nathan will use money raised to meet their personal needs, but in addition, whatever given in this fundraiser that they don't use will go straight to their amazing neighbors who lost EVERYTHING.
I also ask that you all keep PRAYING for these specific things:
- All emergency responders/ fire-fighters and authorities in the aftermath of this fire, and the damage that came with it.
- All families who have had to evacuate and leave their homes, only to come back to nothing where their homes used to be. Pray against trauma for young children, because of an incredibly scary situation.
- More than anything, we pray for SUPERNATURAL PEACE that comes from God and surpasses all our human understanding.
Lastly, I was told once and reminded in this situation that when words aren't enough, we sometimes have to "pray with our feet", and in this exact situation, "praying with our feet" looks a lot like responding to the movement of our hearts and actually physically doing good, and sacrificing our own resources and finances and giving to those in need.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ARE GIVING. We give out of the overflow of our hearts, and man, do we love and care about the Huff family. I know it is a large goal, but I know a God who can do and has done what may seem like impossible things. Anything is possible with Him. Let's massively bless the Huff family (and beyond) with kindness and generosity.
