HUGE MURAL RESTORATION!
Donation protected
The iconic Upper Market St. Mural in San Francisco is being restored! Originally painted in 1981 by Betsie Miller-Kusz, she is now working with a team of assistants and volunteers to restore it to its former glory.
The project is sponsored with wide community support, since this mural is located on Market St., the main thoroughfare through San Francisco. Its theme features an abstract, brilliantly colored depiction of the landforms behind the retaining wall. As a counterpoint to the downtown skyline visible from the site, it is intended to remind us of our earth in these times of so many crises in our land.
The funds raised will supplement city funding, to support the muralists and the extensive restoration materials needed. At the end of the project, the wall will be coated with a varnish meant to last another 40 years.
Please help us revitalize this mural, “The Chant of the Earth, the Voice of the Land”! All donors’ names will be credited on the mural wall if they wish.
