Hugh & Lyn Ellis ~ Eugowra Flood relief
Donation protected
Many of you have asked how you can help Hugh and Lyn Ellis.
(Hugh and Lyn see their home after the flood)
Monday 14th of November, was the day our parents lost everything, nearly including their lives. Having farmed in the district for many years, Hugh and Lyn Ellis made the decision to downsize and settle into retirement within the township of Eugowra barely twelve months ago. Unfortunately, after spending seven months renovating the old 'Eat Your Greens' function centre to create a home, they barely even got to enjoy it.
The events of Monday morning saw their home torn inside out by the unprecedented flooding event that roared through the township of Eugowra, displacing approximately 80% of the residents. Hugh and Lyn didn't even have time to put shoes on before they found themselves needing to climb into the ceiling crawl space, where Hugh managed to bash his way through the corrugated iron sheeting and were rescued by helicopter.
We are so heartbroken for Hugh and Lyn and the community of Eugowra. We have been really touched by the overwhelming support offered by family and friends. This fund has been created to help Hugh and Lyn Ellis start over and rebuild their lives.
We understand that this flood disaster is widespread and has impacted many. Our hearts ache for all affected communities. If you would prefer to donate to the wider Eugowra community, please follow the link below:
