Coach Hugo Rios

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the loss of my great friend, Hugo Rios.  Hugo lost his battle with COVID-19 this morning and leaves behind his wife, Angie and 3 beautiful daughters, Leilani, Alani and Kalani Rios.  He also leaves behind his parents and sister, Lydia.  Their grief is unimaginable. My buddy Hugo loved his family and was a great husband and father.  He loved watching his girls compete in softball and soccer and was even a coach for the BombSquad and CA Panthers softball teams. He enjoyed coaching the girls and helping them reach their potential.  Hugo would do anything to help the team, always generous with this time, never hesitating to pick up any of the girls if the parents could not make it to practice or games. Now, Angie faces the huge task of raising their girls alone, supporting her family with a single income.  That is where I am asking Hugo’s friends, the Downey Ponytail family, CA Panthers family, co-workers and anyone touched by his story to help make Angie’s monumental task a little easier.   This GoFundMe page is being set up to help cover funeral and medical expenses.  Everything raised will help Angie and her girls get through this difficult and challenging time. Knowing Hugo, he’d probably tell me, “Porras, don’t make a big deal”.  Nah, Bro you were truly loved by all that knew you and will be missed forever.  I love you Bro! COVID-19 has devastated so many families so please wear your masks and take the necessary precautions.   We need to end the pain and suffering caused by this horrible virus.  God Bless you all and thank you for your support.
