Hui O 'Imiloa – 39th Annual Lūʻau
Donation protected
Hello, we are Hui O ʻImiloa (the Hawaiʻi Club at UCLA)!
We will be hosting our 39th Annual Lūʻau in UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion on Saturday, May 4th, 2024. Lūʻau is an integral part of traditional Hawaiian and local culture, bringing people together through dance, storytelling, and music.
This year's Lū'au is particularly special because it is in honor of Maui, especially in light of the lives lost and lands decimated due to the recent fires.
Our Lūʻau will include a variety of dances, including traditional kahiko, ʻauana, kāne, and a special dance for the seniors of Hui O ‘Imiloa. We will also be having ‘ukulele performances from some of our very own club members!
Our performers have been passionately working for months now, learning hula from professional Kumu Hula Josh Chang, who has been gracious enough to teach us more about the beauty of Hawaiian culture and community.
Additionally, we will be providing ono Hawaiian food from Rutt's!
Please help support Hui O 'Imiloa to share the beauty of Hawaiian culture within the UCLA community! MAHALO!
Note: Donors that reach a certain threshold will be recognized in the lu'au program!
