Huimin Ma’s Memorial Fundraiser

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

With deep sorrow, I share the tragic news of the passing of Huimin Ma, who was involved in a fatal car accident on September 29. Huimin was a visiting PhD student from China, known for her intelligence, kindness, and the positive impact she had on those around her. I am Jilong Xu, her boyfriend, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of her grieving family.

We are seeking support to cover the following expenses:

Funeral and Memorial Arrangements – We wish to honor Huimin with a respectful and meaningful farewell, which will cost around CAD 6,000.

Support for Her Family's Travel – Huimin’s parents and her uncle will need to travel from China to Canada. The cost of airfare for all three is approximately CAD 8,000, in addition to accommodation and the necessary paperwork, including visa applications and obtaining the death certificate.

Due to delays in processing official documents, Huimin's parents have asked me to bringing her ashes back to China once the paperwork is complete, which will also involve further costs.

Your support during this incredibly challenging time would greatly ease the financial burden on Huimin’s family as they cope with this heartbreaking loss. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be a great help, and we sincerely appreciate your kindness.
