Hi, we are children from the Hull Wyke Under 8's Grassroots Rugby Team and we are hoping to raise some money to help the whole team to go to the Leeds Rhinos Challenge 2024. This is the UK's biggest Rugby League Festival weekend held at Butlins Skegness, annually. Unfortunately, due to costs only half the team managed to go to the Festival this year. Those who were able to go this year reported that the children had the most amazing weekend playing the sport they love against teams from all over the country. It really is a valuable experience for them in both developing their skills and making memories with their team mates!
The children will be undertaking some sponsored activities in order to help raise funds to enable all of the children in the team to attend the Festival in 2024.
As part of the fund raising effort, 7 of the children from the team will 'Swim the Humber'. This will be a team target to swim 2,220 metres between them which is the length of the Humber Bridge. The children will undertake the swim at Haltemprice Leisure Centre on Tuesday 26th September.
The children in the Hull Wyke Under 8s Team will also be hiking up Mam-Tor in the Peak District on Saturday 16th September in an effort to raise funds. This is a 5.2 mile circular hike and the children would very much appreciate sponsorship for the hike.
Please consider sponsoring the children with as much or as little as you are able to. Every £ raised will help all of the children in the team to have the fantastic experience of the Rugby League Festival next year!
Thank you
