Hulphond voor Aiden - Service dog for Aiden

Hey, ik ben Aiden. Ik woon in het zonnige, Limburgse Weert, samen met mijn vriendin Laury, mijn 2 katten, 2 konijnen en hamster. Ik ben 19 jaar, en uit mijzelf als non-binaire trans masc. (mijn voornaamwoorden zijn hij/hem).

Sinds een jonge leeftijd, loop ik al wekelijks bij de GGZ naar binnen. Veel therapievormen zijn voor mij niet meer onbekend. Cognitieve Gedrags Therapie, Schema Therapie, Imaginatie Therapie, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Verwerking, Emotionele Regulatie Therapie.

In mijn leventje tot nu toe, heb ik meerdere persoonlijkheidsstoornissen ontwikkelt. Waaronder Autisme, Borderline, Post-Traumatische Stress, en een chronische depressieve stoornis. Deze stoornissen maken het leven van vandaag, ondraagelijk.

Ik kan niet alleen boodschappen doen, ik kan niet meer met het openbaar vervoer, geniet niet meer van oude hobbies, en soms kan ik zelfs niet uit bed komen.

In de zoektocht naar een betere toekomst, heb ik moeten dealen met automutilatie (self-harm) en suïcide pogingen. Ik ben nu twee keer opgenomen in het ziekenhuis, in de hoop wat rust te creëren in mijn hoofd.

Maar tevergeefs.

Ik heb tot een aantal maanden geleden altijd de hoop gehouden dat het weer goed zou komen, maar therapie schijnt nooit genoeg te zijn. Nu ik deze hoop ben verloren, moet iemand anders deze voor mij terug vinden. En hoe kan dat beter dan met een super speurneus ?!

Een puntje van licht toen ik leerde over het concept van een psychiatrische hulphond. Ze worden getraint om van te voren al aan te voelen wanneer het dreigt fout te gaan. Deze hond kan mij helpen, leren en signaleren. Hij of zij kan mij helpen mijn leven weer terug te krijgen, verder te gaan met mijn studie, te gaan werken, en alles daar tussenin en omheen.

Helaas kost de training van deze hond €20.000,- (Bij stichting Bultersmekke) Dit is exclusief de aanschaf van de hond, en al zijn of haar benodigdheden. De Wet Maatschappelijke Ondersteuning kan mij niet helpen in deze financiëring, omdat er te weinig wetenschappenlijk onderzoek is naar de resultaten van pyschiatrische hulphonden.

Voor mij is het leven nu uitzichtloos, help mij mijn toekomst terug te krijgen!

Hey, I am Aiden. I live in de sunny south of the Netherlands, Limburg. I live together with my girlfriend Laury, my 2 cats, 2 rabbits and my hamster. I am 19 years of age, and I identify as a non-binary trans masc. (my pronouns are he/him).

Since a young age, I have been following weekly therapy sessions. Alot of different types of therapy are not unknown to me anymore. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Re-scripting Therapy, Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Traumatic Experiences Therapy and Emotional Regulation Therapy.

In my life so far, I developped multiple personality disorders. Such as Autism, Borderline Personality Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and a depressive disorder. These disorders make the life I live today, unbearable.

I can't go out on my own to do groceries, I can't travel with public transport, I don't enjoy my old hobby's anymore, and some days I can't even get out of my bed.

In my search for a better future, I had to deal with self-harm and suicide attempts. I have been hospitalized twice, mainly to create a sense of peace in my mind.

But in vain.

Until a few months ago I always have kept my hopes up, expecting everything would eventually be fine. But therapy seems to be never enough. Now I have also lost this hope. I need someone else to find it back for me. And how else better then with a super nose ?

A spark of light flickered when I learned about the concept of a pyschiatric service dog. These dogs are trained to sense shifts in my mood before I can even sense them. A dog like this can help me, teach me and signal me in time. He or she can help me getting my life back, get a job, go to school, and every single thing in between.

Unfortunately, the price for training this dog is €20.000,- (at Bultersmekke Assistance Dogs). This pricetag is without the costs for buying the dog, and all the things they need. (e.i. a bench, a collar, food, etc.) A law in the Netherlands, called the Law of Social Support doesn't want to financially support me, because they claim there is simply too little scientific research on the results of these dogs.

Right now, my life feels hopeless, please help me get my future back !
