Human and Pet Food Pantry and Supplies

A message from Pam and Anita: “Food is love, food is community.”

MASK Mothers/Men Against Senseless Killings and OTAT One Tail at a Time (animal rescue) has teamed up to bring another pet and human food pantry on Saturday, August 15th to the Block Academy at 75th and Stewart in Chicago. This is their 6th together.

Community action and awareness is the only way things will change. Tamar Manasseh founded MASK as a way to interrupt violence and crime.  For many of us it's hard to understand or even relate to a group of moms sitting on a corner after school on the south side of Chicago to make sure other mothers' children are safe.  Creating a safe corner.

Want to help? Send a few dollars our way so we can purchase food and necessities. Our goal is to raise a conservative $2,000. We'll be purchasing and taking items to the food drive: baby formula/food/diapers/wipes, paper products, personal products, school supplies, masks/gloves/sanitizer, food; peanut butter, bread, fruit/vegies, jelly, non-perishables like canned vegies, boxed mashed potatoes, etc., dog/cat food and cat litter. We also need reusable bags so the families can transport their products home.

If you have connections with hand sanitizer or mask makers, grocers, retailers or other businesses that could provide items for the food pantry, please reach out to them.  These items can be dropped off (we may be able to arrange pick up). Just reach out to Pam or Anita to arrange.

MASK is an all volunteer-based organization, driven by donations from the generosity of people like you. They are a crime prevention organization - a grass roots initiative that is making an impact.

We hope you’ll join us and take action in helping to feed, educate and give our brothers and sisters on the south side hope for a safe, healthy and happy future. Donations of any amount are welcome.  Times are tough for many, if donating isn't possible, send some good vibes to MASK.

We are so grateful for your assistance!

Info from the MASK website:

“MASK (Mothers/Men Against Senseless Killings) was established in 2015 as a way to put eyes on the streets, interrupt violence and crime, and teach children to grow up as friends rather than enemies. A group of caring individuals in the community began to simply hang out on the block, cook food, and emanate love.

Our presence was felt. People began to notice neighbors were watching out for each other, and it was contagious. Now this method of injecting good vibes in troubled areas is catching on in more communities.
