Humanitarian Crisis in Malawi

Donation protected
I have just received one of the most heart-breaking videos' and messages from my cousin who lives in Blantyre Malawi.

Cyclone Freddy hit Blantyre and not only washed away people's homes but also killed people and animals. She said to me that there are dead children in the mud and water.

I just can't imagine getting up one morning going to work and then being faced with this tragedy. Not only losing your home but also your family, children and neighbours.

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in Africa and help and aid is minimal at any time, and people that should be helping are turning away from this.

Currently, my cousin is gathering food for affected people in a makeshift shelter. The survivors have now not eaten for two days, there are mothers of newborn babies that need food to ensure they can feed their babies - can you imagine how helpless they must feel - how abandoned and the mental anguish of seeing everything you own washed away.

I know we are all going through our own problems with inflation, and prices going up on most things - but surely our mantra needs to be - If you survive - we all survive.

I think about buying a cup of coffee in the morning - what do I spend on that - and that would make a difference to someone else's actual life for that day.

I'm just so very sad and heartbroken today and would welcome anyone's thoughts or idea's on what we can do to really help.

I have spoken to all of my close friends and we have all sent money directly to my cousin today, to ensure she can at least buy some food for them today - but what about tomorrow?

Please donate anything - a price of a coffee is all I'm asking.
