Humboldt Lemonade Day, a DreamMaker project

Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Humboldt Lemonade Day, a DreamMaker project of the Ink People, and any donation will help make an impact! Thanks in advance for your contribution to this invaluable program that means so much to me and the children in our community.

More information about Ink People: The Ink People has been changing people's lives since 1979 by connecting the community with resources for cultural development. We encourage people to exercise their humanity, build civic discourse, and engage their creative potential. We are a community-based, grassroots, artist-run, arts and culture organization. We know that young people are the future and are incredibly challenged by today's world, so we try to give them tools to build successful and fulfilling lives.

More information about Humboldt Lemonade Day: Humboldt Lemonade Day has been a free event/program staple for the youth within our community since 2011. It is a national event, designed to teach kids to set goals, develop a business plan, establish a budget, seek investors, design and build their own lemonade stand, formulate their own brand recipes, plan and implement an artistic marketing campaign, provide customer service and give back to their community.

Lemonade Day exists to infuse today’s youth with the spirit of enterprise, teaching them basic business and entrepreneurial skills -- one lemonade stand at a time. Participants get to learn how to start, own and operate their very own business. We encourage the kids to “spend a little, save a little and share a little” of what they earn.

This “event” consists of two full months of activities and preparation, including registration events and participant workshops, where the kids get to plan, learn and test. Lemonade Day, which next occurs on Saturday, June 1, 2024, is the culmination of all their hard work.

In the past, the funding needed to pay for this wonderful program was provided by incredible businesses and community supporters. Unfortunately, after submitting at least a half-dozen grant applications and more than fifty requests made of local businesses, we're still drastically short on funds. A substantial amount of money must be raised by December 31, 2023, to pay the required national licensing charter. If we aren't able to pay these fees by this deadline, the future of Humboldt Lemonade Day as we know it will be in jeopardy.

Won’t YOU consider supporting Humboldt Lemonade Day?
Your financial support will ensure that this program can and will continue to operate for our local youth. Humboldt Lemonade Day is a program I believe in so much, I'll be making a donation directly to Ink People in the form of a check, with Humboldt Lemonade Day specified in the memo line. Will you please join me in supporting this worthwhile cause, either through this platform or through other means? We only need 240 individuals or businesses to contribute $25 or more to reach our goal! Any funds raised in excess of our goal will be used to ensure that all young entrepreneurs receive recognition and support during the event, promotional swag for their efforts and participation, and the opportunity for various awards after the event.

(The Humboldt Lemonade Day DreamMaker Project is sponsored by fiscal agent, The Ink People.)
