Humilité ( A Documentary )

Donation protected

Hello!
Dennis DeVries here, the filmmaker behind Humilité.
This is an amazing story with amazing people;
the feedback from the test screenings has been extremely positive!

The film is completely shot, but it needs a final phase of post production and several finishing elements before it
can be screened publicly. Unfortunately, these are big-ticket items.

Please contribute what you can. Any amount helps our goal to be able to release the film.
I'll be proud to share your name in the credits. Thank You!

About the Film
Humilité is a feature-length documentary set in the world of wingsuit BASE jumping.
Summary
We hang out in Switzerland with two friends that jump off cliffs and fly.
The wingsuit pilot’s names are Reiner Ebert and Ludovic Woerth.
They have a great dynamic and we see amazing flight footage.

A year later…
Reiner crashes while following another pilot at a new spot in France.
Reiner does not deploy his parachute, but miraculously survives.
The cameras that Reiner has mounted to his body are lost during impact.

Two months after the crash...
Convinced that the lost footage is worth a fortune...
Reiner goes back up the mountain to find his lost cameras.
We learn about his survival and follow Reiner on his search.

A year later... then, yet another year later...
Several major dramatic events occur.

I want to thank everyone that has helped in Switzerland, France, Japan, New York, London, New Jersey, Jacksonville, Chicago, The Bay, and LA.  All of the subjects and people behind the scenes, even thousands of miles behind the scenes, have been an enormous benefit to the process. The subject matter of Humilité is very challenging and I have deeply appreciated all of your help.

Painful Reality
Wingsuit BASE jumping is the deadliest sport on the planet. Several of the people in the film, including one of the main subjects, do not live to see the end. I do not show footage of anyone dying, but I do explore a world in which we all have a chance to make our passion our provider. Sometimes the dangling carrots of the digital age cause grave mistakes.

Why Is This Story Important?
Beyond celebrating and memorializing the lives of those who died, Humilité is for people who are jumping off cliffs of their own. People who are seizing the tools and the opportunities of our modern world. People who are trusting their intuition, raising their voice, writing, dancing, designing, hitting record, and hoping they will thrive.

Humilité is also for people who fail.
People who lose faith, but find a way to get it back.

How Will The Funding Be Used
The funding will pay for the last push of post production, a composer, music rights, audio mastering, color correction, legal fees, subtitles, festival submissions, overhead, and promotional materials.

True Humility

This is the end of a 5 year/5000+ hour process.
Reiner, Ludo, Jokke, and my family have been very helpful, but the film needs finishing funds.
Please contribute and be a part of this powerful story.

You will learn to fly, have an adventure, laugh, cry, and be inspired.

Please Give What You Can.
Thank You,
Dennis

Amazing People / Amazing Story
Alice Coldefy is the first woman to serve in the elite Chamonix PGHM (High Mountain Military Police Force). Reiner's accident was the first phone call she received in her new post. Reiner is the first wingsuit pilot to survive a crash without deploying a parachute.

"Stay with me... you're not going to die!"
Alice said to Reiner while he awaited rescue.
