Hunter Kolbet's Open-Heart Surgery

Hi Everyone,

This is Hunter's momma, and I created this GoFundMe to help Hunter during his recovery from open-heart surgery. Hunter is undergoing a Ross Procedure (surgery on two of his heart valves), as well as an aortic aneurysm repair on March 8th.

Everyone who knows Hunter knows that he’s a great friend, son, and brother, as well as an amazing dad to his little boy, Alex. Hunter is that guy that is always willing to help a buddy out, and he never expects any payback or recognition.

Some people might not know that Hunter was born with a congenital heart defect and had emergency open-heart surgery when he was only a few days old. That surgery lasted for 28 years, but his defective heart valve now needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, he's also developed an aortic aneurysm from the years of living with the valve defect.

Hunter has a long and challenging road ahead of him. He’s a tough guy, and we know he’ll do great with recovery, but it won’t be easy. In addition to the physical healing, Hunter will be off work for at least two months, and possibly, three, after the surgery. Keeping up with everyday bills and now with medical bills rolling in, things will get tight.

Hunter does have some medical insurance, but unfortunately, his copays and deductible are incredibly high. We know it would help Hunter out so much while he recovers if you could give whatever you can to help with:

• Medical copays

• Loss of income and living expenses

• Future doctor appointments

• Travel to Salt Lake for follow-ups
