Hunter with Expenses

As some of you may know my baby brother Hunter was recently hit by a car (two cars to be exact) earlier this month, August (2022).

Hunter is 21 years old and has busted his butt since graduating high school and has done amazing for himself. However, I know these medical expenses are going to be tough on him especially since he is unable to work until he fully recovers. I know swallowing pride to ask others for help is hard but i would like to help my brother with at least some of his near term bills while he is still in recovery.

The Accident.

Hunter was walking home when a car hit him, before they could pull over to stop traffic, another vehicle ran him over and drug him roughly 40 feet leaving him with life threatening injuries while they drove off.

Hunter fractured both his hips, had an open fracture on his femur, was left with merely bone on his shoulder, his back covered in road rash, and a head fracture resulting in a traumatic brain injury.

He was flown to the hospital from the scene where he stayed in the ICU until he was stable enough for surgery and could start breathing on his own.

When he first woke up in the hospital he had no idea: who he was, where he was, what year it was, or what had happened to him. Thankfully with time and the amazing care he has been getting he has slowly started to regain his memories. Although he has no memory of the past few weeks and his day to day is still a work in progress I’m extremely proud of how far he has made it.

As of now he has already had 4 surgeries, has stayed in the hospital for 13 days and is currently in an inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Facility where he will continue to stay until he has been cleared to return home. He is currently being cared for and assisted with his physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. He still has a long way to go and will require at home assistance for a while. His memory still isn’t back yet but I know the medical expenses of this will crush him when he ready to move back home.

While there is not much I can help him with I would love to be able to take some of the financial stress off of him.
