Who am I?

My name is Mark. I’m a professional Actor and Fight Performer, as well as a Graduate of East 15 stage school with a BA(hons) in Acting and Stage Combat, who has a drive to share my skills with others. Stage Combat is a huge part of my life and as a practitioner of it I desired to establish my own Acting, Stage Combat and HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) Club in the Greater London area.


Hunters Stage Combat what’s that?

Currently it is a small club in the Newham area, with some dedicated students and followers, but it has big dreams of growing to be so much more! It offers a new set of practical and useful skills to Actors and Performers of all ages and backgrounds, giving people new opportunities to join the Arts industry by opening a wide variety of paths that they may not have considered before. Regardless of if you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran of the industry, we welcome all to train and improve themselves. At Hunters Stage Combat we hope to take the opportunity to keep our young and venerable people off the streets and occupied in a fun and safe environment, allowing them to be able to make new friends and learn new skills and talents they may never have discovered otherwise, as well as teaching them important life lessons, that may make a huge difference as they grow to be their own people.



So what makes us different?

One of the most import and influential parts of Hunters Stage Combat is that we want it to be available to everyone by being affordable and accessible! We want to welcome all! This club is for those who can't afford to pay a large upfront fee, or who can’t take two weeks off work to do an intensive course half-way across the city. We are here for people who can only commit to every other week or less or if needed, we can come to you with our private one-to-one classes. We are open to those with families that want to or need to attend as a unit. We are child friendly! Come to us if you only want to do a booster course before stage school, or a recap after. We welcome those who just want something to do some afternoons, and to people who want to be the next HEMA world champions, we will do are best to get you there! You want to be the next big thing and train every day? That's great! Let’s do it! We want to cater to all, because all are important. We offer weekly classes in HEMA and in Acting and Stage Combat, which you can attend as you like, for as long as you like, with a small class fee payable on the day. Want to take it to the next level and really grow as a person? Join the Pack! With this yearly subscription, students become Pack Members with a discount on all classes and access to joining the company’s fight crew!



So, what happened?

After establishing my business, funding it, and buying some equipment myself, Hunters Stage Combat has already amassed a small armory and some great students whom I am training. It was growing slowly, but surely. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 striking just months after Hunters Stage Combat was established, the lockdown started, meaning no more classes. Keeping Hunters Stage Combat afloat hasn't been easy throughout the lockdown, but is definitely not something I regret doing at all! As the restrictions continue to lift, I believe that we can come out stronger for it! With your help this can be a reality. With my students returning and my classes starting up again, I know my little business can survive and I know it can flourish with your generosity and kindness.

How your donations and funding will help!

Your funding will help the club and its students grow and reach out to more people around the city. It will be going towards...
- Online advertising.
- New accredited certificates.
- New equipment. i.e. training weapons, pads, mats, protective gear, and much more - Custom uniforms for Hunters Stage Combat staff and students.
- Hiring of appropriate and safe training spaces.
- Hiring of film equipment and crew so our students can create their fight-reels and truly be out there for the world to see.
- Hire specialist professionals to come in and train our students in a variety of other skills i.e. circus skills, puppetry, fencing, self-defense and many more.
- Create new employment opportunities both in Hunters Stage Combat and our much needed Arts industry. - Create teams that can go on to take part in HEMA tournaments (hopefully around the world)
- Help fund us to let theatre companies grow in our club and fund their performances
- Create a friendly and safe club and a community we can be proud of.

If our goal was achievable towards the winter period it would be amazing, as we currently train outside in the elements.
