Hunter Webb was enjoying a motocross trail with his friends and family in February and something went seriously wrong. During the last jump on his last lap, he fell off his bike and broke his back. Hunter risked being paralyzed, never walking again and faced potentially life threatening injuries. Had his father not said over the phone to the friends with him "don't move him and call an ambulance” things could have been much worse for Hunter.
Hunter spent weeks in ICU with wires, monitors and massive fear, uncertainty and doubt weighing heavily on all those involved. With his family by his side 24/7 and all hoping for the best possible outcome, Hunter had a successful surgery to stabilize his L1 vertebra with screws and plates. Through a lot of love and prayers he was later able to transfer from the ICU into a physical therapy hospital, where the long journey of recovery would begin. Hunter began by learning how to stand again and walk with braces and walkers. Through it all, Hunter kept offering his big bright smile and huge welcoming heart to all those that came to visit and is full of gratitude for all the staff, doctors and nurses that have helped him.
Hunter has made it home and while the pain still comes and the braces are all still in place, he is continuing to navigate through the journey of recovery and working hard to find a new normal of daily life after a broken back.
Hunter is a young man with an outstanding future ahead of him. He is independent and typically is the person helping others; however, he is now in a position of needing the help of his fellow friends, family and loved ones. Since the accident, Hunter has been out of work at a job he loves but the medical bills continue to mount. If you can donate anything to help him with these growing financial burdens, he would be incredibly grateful. Your kindness and gifting will help tremendously.
