HUONG'S NEW KIDNEY

This Mother’s day, Huong Kim will wake to the greatest gift a mother could ever receive from her child.  The gift of life, a new kidney given to her by her son Danny.   This Saturday morning, the day before Mother’s Day, Danny Minh of Norcross, age 26, will undergo surgery at Piedmont Hospital to give his mom a new kidney.  Huong will finally receive the gift of a lifetime for Mother’s Day by her son!  Huong has been with kidney disease since May of 2016. 

My name is Hung Kim and I am Huong’s younger brother, Uncle to Danny.  There are no words to describe the pain and heartbreak of watching your sister slowly deteriorate.  Watching as her skin pigment discolors, her loss of hair, the uncontrollable itch, and severe unintentional weight loss.  It’s misery to watch your sister come home every night for dialysis treatments as she just grows weaker. 

As an uncle, I am proud of my nephew for being so devoted to his mother that he is giving her his kidney.  I am so grateful to my nephew for saving my sister’s life.  When I asked Danny about it, Danny said “THAT’S WHY GOD GAVE ME TWO”.
