Sam’s Smile!

Donation protected

Sam is in search of her smile!
I am Haley, and I am happy to say I’m the wife of Sam Hurley. We are 27 years old and we have a beautiful daughter named Zoey, who is about to turn 8 months on Nov 21st!  I’m writing this not to ask for a “handout”, but because I can’t stand to see my wife’s heart break over this situation much longer. Something she had her hopes up for, something that has plagued her for many many years was taken from her today; the opportunity to sport a cheesy grin without holding back!

To make a long story short, Sam and I are recovering addicts.. & as of right now, we are currently completing a case plan with DCF.
We have been sober for 67+ days and counting as we continue to build a solid foundation for our family! When we first got involved, Sam did an intake with one of the coordinators that asked her what some of her setbacks would be for achieving sobriety. Sam answered, “My teeth. Definitely my teeth. - They hurt, give me migraines, my face swells and throbs… even my ears and eyes hurt. “
So, one of the program’s workers promised Samantha dental implant surgery, as that would help alleviate her pain, thus preventing her from resorting to drugs to try to alleviate this pain. When Samantha gets an abscess her face blows up like a balloon and she is in agony. Every single time she smiles I can see her out of the corner of my eye her closing her lips to try to hide her teeth. A happy moment, extinguished by the reminder of her biggest insecurity. Good feeling gone.  She’s miserable, and quite frankly she’s in danger of dying of sepsis from the amount of infection in her sinus cavity. The entire left side is so inflamed, she will need tissue graphs to strengthen the sinus cavity to prevent further bone loss. The surgery is going to cost about $30,000, if not more, and we thought that these providers were going to take care of the expenses. Time after time Samantha has asked them “ are you sure you guys are going to be able to pay for this and not back out when you get an outrageous bill?”, and they reassured her that they would do “everything they can to make it happen”, reiterating they wouldn’t bail out on her, every time she asked.
But unfortunately, just like she had suspected, she got an email that would confirm her suspicions.
They informed us they would only allowing her $5000 maximum for the surgery. At least they were nice enough to try… Of course we're grateful for any assistance the system can provide, and a lot of folks get no help at all. But they've had 7 months to tell us what these limits are and now it's a week before her surgery and we've come too far to turn back now. She was even willing to skip a vital part of the process and go without temporary dentures for 3 to 6 months just to save the organization (the one that was going to pay) the extra $5000 it would’ve cost for those dentures.

So without further delay, I need y’all‘s help trying to find a way to make this happen for her so I can see her smile without hiding anymore. She’s devastated about this and my heart breaks for her…
I need help to make this happen… She’s a good mother, a kind human with a good soul and I don’t want to see her unhappy. I don’t want to see her in physical pain, or emotional pain because of this… Nor do I want her to die of a blood infection. Zoey deserves to see her momma happy & smiling genuinely without any extinguished happiness!
 What can we do?
