Hurricane Delta - Operation BBQ Relief
Tax deductible
Hello! I am Stan Hays, Co-Founder and CEO of Operation BBQ Relief. Operation BBQ Relief is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization that will be deploying to Lake Charles, LA and the surrounding areas to provide the healing power of BBQ to communities affected by Hurricane Delta. The money donated to this campaign supports the mission of Operation BBQ Relief. Operation BBQ Relief provides comfort to those in need by connecting, inspiring, serving, and educating in communities far and wide. We feed families in need. We feed first responders, utility workers, and front-line essential employees after disasters. Over 500,000 individuals are without power as the death toll continues to increase. Families are homeless and in need of meals as the recovery efforts continue. We anticipate that we will provide upwards of 30,000 meals per day as so many communities are impacted by Hurricane Delta . Operation BBQ Relief is providing compassion, hope, and friendship to impacted individuals and organizations. Please donate today! Every dollar makes a difference.
Less than 3 weeks ago, we left Lake Charles after serving approximately 380,000 meals over 3 weeks after Hurricane Laura. There is major damage to the area again and we are identifying mass feeding needs in the area.
For me, one of the most humbling things you can do is share the one hot meal that matters to someone who lost their home to a disaster. There are times we have helped families and they are trying to find their life on their lawn. They pause and thank us for a pulled pork sandwich and the experience is truly humbling.
We don’t provide meals for that kind of a thank you, but that kind of a thank you can go so far. We remember that thank you for a long time. We remember that thank you when we think it’s thankless, and it’s 95 degrees and 200 percent humidity outside. We remember the thank yous that come from all these different people, and it makes a difference.
Everybody here has the ability to make a change. Please donate or sign up to volunteer by downloading the Operation BBQ Relief App at the App or store or visiting www.orb.org/volunteer
