Hurricane Ian destroying our home

Hi our names are Ashleigh McBryde and James Harvey. We live in Geneva Florida and were in the direct path of Hurricane Ian. The two of us and our two dogs are completely safe & unscathed from the storm and we’re extremely thankful for the safety of the four of us. Unfortunately though, this storm has completely destroyed the lakefront home we were renting. Inside the home is 8inches of water and the garage containing 16inches of water. This flooding has destroyed our appliances, our clothes, everything in our lower kitchen cabinets and so much more. We do have a few bags of clothes and some toiletries. We very fortunately have family that we can temporarily stay with but will be looking for a long term rental since the house is inhabitable for the foreseeable future. With the extensive repairs that will need to be done, we will never call this house our home again. We have loved this lakefront home for a year and a half now and we’re not prepared to say goodbye after the storm. We are not typically the type to ask for help but we feel as though we don’t have many options at the moment. The two of us would be more than thankful for any help we can receive during this time. We plan on spending this money on getting us into another rental home, replacing damaged furniture and damaged belongings.
