Shawn & Heather’s Hurricane Ian Recovery Fund
Donation protected
My name is Michael Deeying and I’ve created this GoFundMe to benefit Shawn & Heather Hebb of Winter Park, Florida.
Shawn & Heather are dear friends to me and I’d like to help them recover from the devastating floods resulting from Hurricane Ian’s wrath across Central Florida. Shawn & Heather woke up at 3am on the morning of September 29th to water flooding into their home near Lake Bell in Winter Park, Florida. After Hurricane Ian had passed, the Hebb’s were left with between 6”-12” of black water throughout their entire home.
Realizing the flood waters may never stop and the septic tank was backing up, the Hebb’s were forced to evacuate from their home on the early morning of September 29th through the black flood waters. Not knowing what or if they’d have a home to come back to once the rains & wind would not subside, the Hebb’s hoped for the best.
Living in an area that was not considered a FEMA flood zone, they never thought to have flood insurance. As of October 4th, we’ve emptied the home of all personal belonging that weren’t destroyed by the flood waters. Next, the work begins to take out all the moisture, mud, debris, and contaminates left by the black flood waters of Hurricane Ian. It’ll be months before Shawn & Heather will be able to live in their home again.
Ultimately, these GoFundMe recovery funds will be used to help facilitate the Hebb’s rebuilding of their lives and the immediate and impending financial costs that loom in the near future.
Thank you in advance for anything you may be able to donate!
