Hurricane Ian relief for Char-O-Lot Ranch
Donation protected
Hello fellow horse community! I am reaching out on behalf of Char-O-Lot Ranch. As some of you know, Hurricane Ian hit the southwest coast of Florida very hard! Char-O-Lot was in the eye of the storm and suffered from 140+ mph winds for almost 7 hours straight! All humans, horses, dogs and cats survived without so much as a scratch! However, the aftermath to the farm is devastating! Barns lost, probably 45+ trees pulled up, fences down, tack areas flooded and power not expected to be restored for 4-6 weeks! Right now generators are being run to keep water, fans and and refrigeration going. And even in the heart of it, horses from neighboring areas are finding refuge at Char-O-Lot from 4’+ waters! I know many have asked how they can help, so here is the chance! Money will go toward fuel for generators, shavings, insurance deductible of $25,000 and supplies to keep things going! There is no ETA for insurance anything, deductible is high and as we all know, don’t cover most of what is needed. Sue, Jenifer, Sean, Cheryl and everyone at Char-O-Lot has done so much for us, now is a chance for us to repay at least a little of what they have done for us!
