Hurricane Ian relief for Pap and Gram

Hi ! My name is Brittany Haas. I am from Pennsylvania. My husband's grandparents live in Fort Myers, Florida. Due to hurricane Ian they had to evacuate very quickly. They each left their home with one suitcase. Unfortunately we’ve learned that their house is totally damaged, and they cannot return.

We got them set up as best as we could in my mother-in-law’s home, but it is certainly not an ideal placement for them. It is not the most handicap assessable home. Also, they are used to frequent check/ins from a home care aid who they had in Florida, but since my mother in law works full time, she cannot provide that. Their grandsons and grandsons’ families are pitching in when they can, but they could use more consistent care. Money would be spent on private in-home care until they get settled in some type of assisted living facility. Money would also be spent on warm clothing, furniture, and a deposit towards a more permanent living placement.

They are left with nothing and have to start all over. They are both mourning the life they built together in Florida. They are the sweetest couple. We appreciate it more than anything. We are not the type to ask for help. This is new and overwhelming for all of us as we navigate their loss and help them start over here in PA. We are sooo thankful for any amount you can give or just any support, prayers, and good vibes for the family! We love you all!
