Hurricane Ian Relief for the Dawson Family

Our names are Stephanie, Kristie, and Julie, and we are friends and family of Debby Dawson.

We are setting up this fundraiser for the Dawson family--Debby, Chris, and their 3 young children, two of whom are autistic. Their home was in Fort Myers Beach, which has been completely devastated by Hurricane Ian, and they lost everything they couldn't fit into their car when they evacuated. Their house is gone, as is their sense of safety and security.

Both Debby's home office and Chris's place of work, a family business, have been destroyed, leaving the family with no source of income for the foreseeable future.

On top of this total loss, Debby and the family's oldest son are battling chronic illnesses, requiring numerous daily medications and treatments. This makes their current situation much more difficult, as stress/trauma causes their diseases to flare and makes even simple daily tasks harder.

This family has hearts of gold, and as the family sheltered in a hotel without power, with a mattress against the windows, Debby decorated the pitch black hotel room for her daughter's birthday on Thursday so she could experience a sense of normalcy. Debby has also been working tirelessly to help get supplies to neighbors who are still trapped in what little is left of their homes on the island. This is who Debby is--still thinking of others when her own family has lost everything they held dear.
