Hurricane Ian Relief- Thomas Family is Displaced

Hi, my name is Amanda Bustos, and I'm fundraising on behalf of Monica Thomas and her family. (Our Albuquerque, New Mexico family knows her by her maiden name, Monica Sanchez).

Monica, her husband Eric, daughter Sage, and son Jackson live in North Port, Florida. We have stayed in communication with each other throughout the entire storm. They were not in an evacuation zone; however, the storm shifted last minute, and when Hurricane Ian made landfall, they ended up in its direct path.

Thankfully they are ALL ok and safe, but their community is destroyed. Their home suffered significant damage. Although they have hurricane insurance, there were other substantial damages to their home that they anticipate will not be covered.

They will not have power for at least a month, forcing them to evacuate fully. They were able to secure a place to rent in Sarasota, about an hour north of them, until it is safe to return home.

If you can, please consider donating to the Thomas Family relief fund. They will have an overwhelming amount of out-of-pocket expenses and could use our help right now! All funds will go towards immediate costs for their temporary housing and well-being. Funds will also be used to help them repair areas of their home that insurance will not cover.
