Hurricane Ian took my dog, my house, and my car

My name is Kathy and I am fundraising for my good friend Karmon. This is her story; I've lost everything to hurricane Ian. When I say I lost everything, I lost everything I've worked so hard for my whole life.
The most important thing is life... I lost my ride-or-die, eight-year-old girl, a french bulldog Harper. I secured her with her brother in the neighbor's home down the street. We had to force entry into the neighbor's house with her blessing while she was in Africa. I watched my home fill up quickly with water and ran back to save a few precious things like insurance policies and journals I've written since 7th grade. I tried to keep my home and life; the water rose too fast, and the current was getting the best of me. When I left, I saw two faces in the window and returned to one missing. The police airboats searched for missing people after the storm but couldn't get to me. I had a neighbor kayak us home to walk into a deluge-filled home. I'm on a path to rebuilding a home and need all the support I can see possible fathom. This was, after all, just a tropical storm until it wasn't.
