Hurricane Ida LUMCON Staff Relief Fund
Hurricane Ida devastatingly impacted the communities of Cocodrie, Chauvin, and Houma which is home to the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON) lab and its staff and faculty members.
LUMCON’s greatest asset is its people, many of whom have their homes and livelihoods upended by this hurricane. While the damage assessments are still coming in, we know that two staff members have completely lost their homes and belongings and others homes have various degrees of damage.
The LUMCON advisory council is working in coordination with LUMCON administration to bring relief to those staff members affected by Hurricane Ida. Donations made to this campaign will uplift the LUMCON staff by providing funds for food and lodging while they are displaced, as well as assistance in repairing and/or replacing their homes and belongings.
Thank you for your donation of any size. We value our extended LUMCON family as we weather this current crisis. #LUMCONStrong
LUMCON Advisory Council Member, Gary LaFleur will receive and distribute funds to LUMCON faculty and staff as determined by the LUMCON advisory council. To ensure that all faculty and staff have an opportunity to apply for funds, a google form was created and sent to the entire faculty and staff to complete in request for emergency fund assistance.
