Hurricane Relief Fund for Deaf survivors
Hurricane Ida has left a ugly mark on the southeastern part of our beautiful state, making landfall in Port Fourchon with catastrophic 150 mph winds and a record-breaking 172 mph gust. The storm was so powerful that it reversed the flow of the mighty Mississippi River. Towns have been destroyed beyond inhabitability. Lives have been upended. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have suffered loss from this devastating storm.
Louisiana Association of the Deaf is sponsoring a donation drive for the Deaf, DeafBlind, and HOH survivors concentrated mostly in the southeastern area of the state. Funds raised will be used to provide immediate, additional support and will be donated directly to individuals in the area. LAD recognizes the inequity in receiving aid during a disaster and takes action to bring much needed assistance, attention and relief.
You can make a difference by donating today to Louisiana Association of the Deaf.
