Hurricane Nora Devastates Bonito Kitchen

Hi, my name is Mai and I'm starting this fundraiser to help my sister rebuild her restaurant which was destroyed last night by Hurricane Nora. Bonito Kitchen was a place beloved by locals as well as tourists, and was a unique addition to the international cuisine of Puerto Vallarta. She was so thrilled to have her dream of opening this restaurant come true eight months ago, and now it literally has been washed away in a few hours.

While facing the challenge of rebuilding she will also have the responsibility of ensuring her restaurant staff's livelihood. In Mexico there is no unemployment compensation so they are pretty much on their own. I'm hoping that you will be able to support an entrepreneur who has experienced a serious set back. This is someone who not only cares for her employees but anyone in need. When Covid decimated the tourist industry in Puerto Vallarta, she collaborated with other locals to deliver food/supplies to people in need and eventually co-created Vallarta Food Bank to continue to service them. Now that she needs help, I'm hoping that she will get some.
