Hurricane Relief for Dance Studio
Donation protected
I am a small dance studio business owner located in Southern California and many of my students are military. One of my alumni students that moved to the east coast now attends DANCE THEATRE OF JACKSONVILLE and the studio has sustained quite a bit of damage from the Hurricane. Their studio owner started a GoFund Me page for the families of their studio, but not themselves.
As fellow studio owners, I thought it might be a blessing to offer up some support to rebuild from the hurricane to provide these kids back their "THIRD PLACE", somewhere other than home and school that is their safe space. Here is a note from the studio:
I asked to tell me a bit about her studio:
"We have been in business in Jacksonville for 31 years. We have approx 600 students. We have competed regionally and nationally at competitions such as Showstoppers, Star Systems, StarQuest, NYCDA, Jump, Tremaine, Nexstar, Imagine, 24/7 and OnStage NY. We have been doing a yearly fundraiser for St Jude’s Children’s Hospital for over 20 years and have raised over $30,000 for them. We had a fundraiser last year for Hurricane victims in Puerto Rico. We try to do St Jude’s and one other charitable cause every year. We are very big about our students giving back. We offer local scholarships to underprivileged students."
I asked about the damages and she sent these photos too:
"We need roof repairs, new Sheetrock, our floating hard wood floors need to be redone and our ceilings. We also have some minor exterior damage." Also our lobby flooring is ruined - Debra
If you can help them out in anyway, it would be so appreciated and a blessing on these kids to get back into the studio and feel some sort of normalcy.
Thanks for you time and continue to pray for all these communities!
Michelle
