Huxley’s Back Surgery Fund

On Christmas Eve 2021, my best friends’ precious pup Huxley started displaying extreme back pain and began to lose the use of her back legs.

Out of an abundance of caution, her parents (Dad Kyle is pictured in the cover photo with a wounded but smiling Huxley) took her to the vet. One x-Ray, neurologist visit, and MRI later, they found out she had a herniated disc and several blood clots around her spine.

Huxley received her back surgery on December 27, 2021. The cost of surgery, not including her recovery stay and physical therapy, came to $10,000. Her parents, Kendal and Kyle, fronted this unexpected and massive Christmas expense in support of their best girl.

I am creating this fundraiser on their behalf, in hopes of raising enough money to soften this emotional and financial blow as we begin 2022.

As of today 12/28/21, Huxley is recovering from surgery very slowly in Tampa, FL. Her home is in Orlando, and parents Kendal and Kyle are currently stuck in separate cities trying to balance work and care for her. Huxley is looking forward to her 3rd birthday on January 7, 2022. Her friends, corgis Henry and William, and Doberman Lou, hope to be reunited with her in full health again very soon.
