HVSM Supporting Teenagers Mental Health
Donation protected
HVSM is a small business that takes pride in its people and the values they portray. Stephen, Gary, David and Steffan, 4 of our team members have decided to take on a 70.3 Iron Man challenge in Mallorca in May 2023. There are 2 more members of their family who have decided to join in. So that is 6 people who want to participate in this challenge.
HVSM are proud to support our team in this venture and their chosen Charities to support are ‘Soar’ (www.Soar.ie) and ‘Pieta House’ (www.pieta.ie).
Why these Charities? Teenage Mental Health is a struggle, we have all been there, and in our current society, our team recognize the difficulties today’s teenagers go through. Of our team of 25 we have benefited from these Charities either through our own requirements or for our children. The service they provide is invaluable.
Help our team to continue the great work that these Charities provide.
The Charities:
The Soar Foundation
We provide preventative, character development programs to prepare Ireland’s teenagers for an ever-changing and complex world. Soar connects with teens to explore their inner character– follow their true path – and not what’s pushed on them from society, adults, peers and the media.
There is greatness within every teenager. Sometimes silent, sometimes raging, sometimes shining, sometimes stuck… it is there waiting to be discovered and encouraged.
We are Soar. We help teens discover who they are and what they can achieve. We believe that exploration of the question “Who am I?” is a pathway to living an authentic life. "
Pieta House
Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention.
Pieta’s three main pillars of practice are prevention, intervention, and postvention.
Pieta’s prevention services include The Resilience Academy and the Amber Flag.
These are awareness-driving initiatives to instil and empower young people with coping mechanisms to prevent them potentially incurring suicidal or self-harm thoughts in the future.
Pieta’s intervention model is our suicidal ideation and self-harm counselling therapy.
Through up to twelve sessions of free counselling, our strengths-based, solution-focused method aims to nurture resilience and collaboratively develop effective coping strategies with our clients.
Postvention practice is our Suicide Bereavement service.
We provide free counselling, therapy and support to those who have been bereaved by suicide. This service provides Suicide Bereavement Liaison Officers within 8 weeks of a death by suicide, and Suicide Bereavement Counselling from 8 weeks on.
