Helping Laura "Bun" & her Family
Donation protected
My best friend, Laura "Bun" Palmer of 30 years and her family need our help. If you know Bun, you love her, she is the most giving and caring person I have ever met. And once you have met her you won't forget her. She goes out of her way to help anyone with no thanks required and never gives a thought to whether she can afford it or not. She always puts everyone before herself. I have been blessed to be part of this family for 30 years now.
Her mother,Darlene Palmer, the incredible person who gave us Bun, is fighting for her life. Bun's parents (Ben and Darlene) have been together 49 years and are two of the most incredible people you could ever meet.
They took a family vacation to celebrate Bun's birthday the first week of November and she became extremely ill in Mexico. Now any nightmare you can think of with getting sick in another country, its true and the reality is probably worse. Luckily after 2 days they were able to medivac Ben and Darlene to Ft Lauderdale and thankfully the trip insurance they purchased covered all but $2,000 of the emergency flight.
Since then Bun and her dad were in Ft Lauderdale with her mom hoping and praying for her recovery. The doctors found she has severe pneumonia and were treating her for this. Unfortunately all the other tests they ran were coming back negative but due to her high fever and several other factors they determined she has an infection but they cannot find the source of the infection. In addittion they found that she needs heart surgery as soon as possible but surgery is not an option until the pneumonia and the infection are taken care of. All the doctors and specialists agreed that she needed to come back to MI as soon as possibe. The only way to get her back to MI is by Medivac emergency flight. Which the insurance company determined was NOT covered. The flight to MI so she can be treated was $19,000!!
Bun and her father exhausted all their resources and exceeded them to make this happen. Anything to get Darlene home to be treated. In addition to all this stress, she has had to take a leave of absence from work that is unpaid.
After two heartbreaking weeks in Florida Ben, Darlene, and Bun are back in MI as of 4 AM November 27th and everyone is very thankful for this, but she is still fighting for her life.
I know this is a busy and expensive time of year but it is also the time of year when wonderful things, even miracles can happen. And the time of year where everyone would love to have the most important people close to them. If you are lucky enough to still have your parents and they are healthy, cherish every moment with them because it can change in a instance.
So I am asking everyone if you can please find it in your heart to donate to this very important and local famly that many of us love and cherish. Anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated to help with bills and everyday expenses.
In addition, please keep Mom and Dad Palmer, Bun and the rest of the family in your prayers. The more prayers the better!
Please feel free to share this on your facebook page and with everyone.
Thank you for your help
