Help Crystal Fight Lung Cancer
Donation protected
On March 13th, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Adenocarcinoma (Lung Cancer) in my left lung after a couple month battle with what was thought to be pneumonia.
On April 14th, I will begin 6 weeks of chemotherapy simultaneous to Monday-Friday radiation sessions. Radiation will be for 6 weeks. When radiation is done, I will have 6 more weeks of chemotherapy with the hope of killing the cancer and not having to have further invasive treatment such as having 1/2 of my left lung surgically removed.
COVID19 couldn't come at a worse time for me. I've had surgical procedures and appointments alone; at the very time that I've need support the most, and will have to attend my chemotherapy and radiation alone.
Due to COVID19, and my new status as a high risk individual, only my immediate family that I live with are able to be around me. They will also be the only people who can take me to treatment. My family have or will be stopping work to reduce my risk and to be able to take me to treatment, which is 60 miles round trip every day. It's going to put a financial strain on my family to take care of me.
Funds raised will be used for me to pay for new and unexpected expenses related to my new diagnosis including healthy food options, and for all new skin care products for radiation. This will be a long battle, and I do not know what I will need yet.
Only 19% of all people diagnosed with lung cancer will survive 5 years or more. I'm going to fight to be on the right side of that statistic.
