My Christmas Gift & Blanket Drive
Donation protected
Originally I was looking to adopt a family through the MEND poverty organization to help them have a better Christmas by donating a Christmas dinner, groceries, new clothing, toys and new Christmas gifts for the family. However, when I went to apply I found out the registration was full and closed.
It was then that I spoke with a MEND staff member about other ways I can help and they informed me that they receive a lot of toy donations for the younger age groups 10 years and under, however, they do not receive enough gift donations for the kids ages 10 and up.
It is much easier to find $20 gifts for children in the younger age groups so many of the older kids get left out.
Kids in this age group like remote control toys, electronics, makeup kits, etc, which are a little higher in price than the average individual can afford to donate. That is what gave me the idea to start this fund.
My goal is to raise enough money to buy 1 gift for at least 50 kids in the age group of 10 and up. With an average cost of $50, I would like to raise at least $2500 to meet my goal. Please keep in mind that this might be the ONLY gift these kids recieve for Christmas. The toy distribution at MEND begins December 13th so I am hoping to reach my goal by December 10th, 2014.
Additionaly the MEND staff worker said that these families are in desperate need of blankets. I would like to set an additional goal to donate 100 blankets if possible. With an average cost of $15.00 a blanket, I would like to raise an additional $1500 to meet this goal.
Please help me meet these goals. Your donation, no matter how small is greatly appreciated. I will keep this site posted with every purchase that I am able to make with your donations. I will provide pictures and updates as they become available.
Also if you already have a new blanket and/or toy that you would like to donate, the link below has the address where you can mail in your donation directly to MEND.
