Stephanie (Netherland) Rivers Family Support
Donation protected
*Update: Our cherished friend passed away on November 8th, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. She was a fighter, who batted her illness with strength, determination, and her well-known humor. Please keep Chris, their children, along with the entire Rivers and Netherland family in your thoughts and prayers. Please consider making a donation to their loving family in memory of Stephanie. The family is immensely grateful for the love and support that so many have shown during her battle.
Her story is below:
On November 6, 2023 Stephanie was diagnosed with a Level Four Glioblastoma, which has put her in and out of the hospital several times. A Glioblastoma is a fast-growing, aggressive, cancerous brain tumor. Stephanie had a major surgery to remove the tumor which overlayed and intersected the portion of her brain that controls her motorskills. They extracted 95% of the tumor, but Stephanie had to then endure 6 weeks of daily chemo and radiation simultaneously. This has left her with little to no use of her left arm and left leg.
Stephanie faces a heavy dose of chemo every 6 weeks, an infusion every 2 weeks, and a very extensive daily medication routine. Her use of a wheelchair and walker has fluctuated as she fights to stay strong.
Stephanie has been a North Carolina Law Enforcement Officer for 20 years and works in the Family Violence Intervention Unit, helping those that have been affected by Domestic Violence. She has been married to her husband for eight years and they have two young children together.
We are coming together to raise money to reconfigure Stephanie’s bathroom so it is accessible by wheelchair and/or walker. We want to help her to continue to be strong and fight with everything she's got!
Please consider helping our loved first responder, who had helped so many over the course of her career.
