HXP Humanitarian Trip: Garden Towers in Malaysia

Hi! My name is Olivia, and I'm currently a junior in high school. This July, I have the opportunity to go on an HXP humanitarian trip to Malaysia to participate in the Garden Towers service project, a revolutionary project that combines environmental sustainability with community well-being.

This unique project allows me to connect with Malaysian families as we build vertical garden towers for the community. Garden towers are 3-foot-diameter towers that can continuously nurture up to 120 plants! The towers are designed to provide communities with a sustainable source of fresh produce, fostering food security and promoting a healthier lifestyle. You can learn more about the project here.

While in Malaysia, we'll also get to visit an elephant sanctuary and explore Taman Negara National Park, Batu Cages (pictured above), and the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. I'm so excited to serve the people in Malaysia and experience a culture that's very different from my own!
