HYCF Community Resource Center Fundraiser

This is our third-annual fundraiser to help raise money to benefit the Helping You Community Forum (HYCF), which is a local youth-led NGO based in Karonga, Malawi. The HYCF works to bridge the gap seen in underserved communities in Malawi and specifically aims to improve quality reproductive, maternal, and newborn health by advocating for these individuals. They work on projects surrounding gender-based violence/inequalities, women’s health and empowerment, career development, education for children and general community sanitation projects.

This fundraiser is to help fund the building a community resource center where women can seek education, healthcare, and career development resources, and children can gather for after school activities, along with other basic community events. The HYCF Community Centre will be a gathering place for diverse people to learn, share resources, organize education enhancement strategies, develop local agricultural programs and career development opportunities, and related activities.

Here's a breakdown of what your donation can buy:

$12 can buy one chair for the center

$25 can buy one wooden table

$14 can buy at least 10 small notebooks and pens

$12 can buy a full 50 kg bag of cement

$30 can buy 500 bricks

$18 can buy one roll of brick wire

$12 can buy one liter of wood preservative

$80 can buy 100 tiles

Every donation counts! Throughout the past couple of years we were able to raise enough to fund the initial costs of construction. Hopefully this year we can raise just as much or more to help finish its construction!
