Ethans journey

Hi my name is Melanie. I created this gofundme after learning my son Ethan has Parosteal osteocarcoma.

I've never been the type of person to ask for help but the trips back and forth from vernon to Vancouver have already cost us thousands. Recently we did qualify for our expenses paid for this time by hope air. Which was truly a blessing. So here's Ethans journey.... He had a really sore knee for thr past year. And because he has a complete pronation. ST j, which is underdeveloped Achilles tendon's in his ankles. We thought that the knee pain was coming from that. But as the year went on, his left leg started hurting extremely bad. Then he developed a lump. It was becoming swollen and red. He was crying, it was so painful and so 1 day I finally said something's not right, I'm calling doctor Le Roux. And sure enough as soon as I brought him there. Doctor Le Roux sent him for an emergency MRI. He went to the Vernon hospital and had it done. In about a week or 2 later, we got a call from doctor Dobie in Kelowna She is a bone specialist and cancer doctor there. And she said that it didn't look like a regular Bone growth, she wasn't sure what it was. So she sent it to doctor Clarkson in Vancouver. Doctor Clarkson looked at it and said that there's abnormalities that are indicative of Parosteal osteocarcoma. So then we had to take Ethan to Vancouver a week ago for a biopsy at the hospital. Then we had to go to the cancer clinic and talk to doctor Clarkson. Within a week, we got a call from our family doctor and he told us that the biopsy results are cancer. Then Ethan had to call doctor Clarkson and doctor Clarkson then wanted to see us in about 4 to 6 weeks for surgery for ethan, but then yesterday he took a closer look 2 times he called me 3 times yesterday, and he said I've looked at it closer and it looks like it has spread into a joint. I need you guys to come for an emergency mri here in Vancouver. That was a huge kick in the heart. Nothing that we could've expected. But now we have an appointment Tuesday for another mri to find out how far into the bone its gone. This gofundme is to help cover transportation back and forth from vernon, prescriptions, hotels, and whatever medical equipment we will need after his surgeries. We are truly blessed for the love and support we have recieved and we do not expect people to give their money to us. Love is truly what is getting us through this.
